We are proud to announce that our Garissa branch is officially open as from 27th October 2008. While at the branch last week, our CEO, Najmul Hassan met some of our customers and he was encouraged by their response.
He had a word of encouragement to staff, "We have to focus on serving our customers with the best service as that is what will make them move from other already established banks that are tried and tested. We are the newest bank in the town and we have to surpass customer expectations with superior service".
Joined by some business people in blessing the branch at a short ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday October 23rd, Najmul asked them to support the bank as it was their bank too. "When you support us, you will get good service and you will also be heeding Allah's call to stay away from Riba (interest). Now you have no excuse to mix your earnings with haram", cautioned Najmul.
An able team is already in place headed by Ali Noor Shabure, the branch manager, who has previously worked in Garissa with another bank and his last posting was in Moyale. We are confident that he will harness his past relationships and knowledge of the business community to add value to our services in Garissa.
The Garissa branch is the 7th to be opened since Gulf African Bank started operations in January this year. The target is to have 11 operational branches by end 2008 and we are on course.
